1. Create a Morning Routine
Start your day with intention. Incorporating just 10-15 minutes of yoga in the morning can set a positive tone for the rest of your day. A short practice focused on breathing and gentle stretching can help you feel more centered and ready to tackle your to-do list.
2. Prioritise Mindfulness
Going back to school or work often means a busier schedule. Take time throughout the day whenever you notice yourself feeling overwhelmed in traffic jams, your daily commute or a stressful meeting etc. to pause, breathe deeply, and ground yourself in the present moment. Mindful breathing and meditation, even for a few minutes, can reduce stress and increase focus.
3. Stay Consistent with Your Yoga Practice
Consistency is key when returning to a regular routine. Even if you can’t fit in a full-length class, short daily practices can keep your body and mind aligned. Remember, it’s not about how long you practice, but how often. Consistency builds resilience and keeps you on track. I have lots of recorded classes under 30 minutes in my online library that you can easily fit into a busy day.
4. Incorporate Movement Throughout the Day
If your schedule doesn’t allow for a full practice, try to incorporate yoga-inspired movement throughout your day. Simple stretches at your desk, mindful walking, or even a few sun salutations in between tasks can make a significant difference.
5. Reconnect with Your Yoga Community
Transitioning back to a routine is easier when you have support. Consider joining a group class, either in person or online, to stay motivated and connected with others. Invite a friend over to do an online class together!
6. A Fresh start
Consider the new school year in September as a fresh start and visualise what positive changes you would like to bring to the year ahead setting new goals.
