In-Person Classes · Notting Hill
Every Monday at The Life Centre — strong and supportive, for every stage from 14 weeks to your due date.
The class
Mondays, 11:00–12:15, at The Life Centre, Notting Hill. A flowing, dynamic class — because pregnancy is a time to feel strong and capable, not fragile. Suitable for every stage and every level, whether you’ve done yoga for years or you’re starting now.
Tara has guided pregnant yoga students for over 20 years — many return baby after baby.
What it does
Regular practice helps you sleep better, ease the aches as your bump grows, and improve circulation so there’s less swelling. The poses help create space for your baby, support optimal positioning for birth, and prepare you — body and mind — for labour, whatever birth you’re planning.
Getting started
Most women begin around 14 weeks, once their doctor has given the all-clear. You can keep practising right up to your due date. New to yoga? Not a problem. You’ll also find a ready-made community of women at the same stage as you.

It is generally recommended to wait until after your first scan, at around 12 to 14 weeks, before beginning a physical pregnancy yoga practice. Before starting, ensure you have the all-clear from your doctor or midwife and that there are no complications with your pregnancy.
If you would like to begin earlier, you can safely practise breathing exercises, relaxation and visualisation techniques, which can be incredibly beneficial from the very start of pregnancy.
Yes. Pregnancy can be a wonderful time to begin yoga. Before starting, make sure you have the all-clear from your doctor, midwife or obstetrician, and choose a class taught by a qualified pregnancy yoga teacher.
If the teacher is experienced and trained in pregnancy yoga, it may be suitable. However, I always recommend attending a dedicated pregnancy yoga class, where the practice is specifically designed to support the changing needs of pregnancy.
If you have a healthy pregnancy with no complications, you can continue practising yoga right up until the day you give birth. As your pregnancy progresses, your practice should be adapted to suit your body and energy levels.
You can join my Online Studio, which gives you unlimited access to a library of pregnancy yoga classes that you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. The classes range from short practices to full-length sessions, and also include breathing exercises, relaxation, meditation and partner birth preparation classes, so you can practise safely throughout your pregnancy from the comfort of your own home.
You can also order my book, My Pregnancy Yoga Journal, which complements the online classes with weekly guidance, breathing techniques, meditations and practical support throughout your pregnancy.
You can practise the same pregnancy yoga at home, or start with the journal.
